One of Munich's many subtle monuments. This golden trail was laid to mark a small resistance movement that took place shortly after the Nazis began rising to power. In order to avoid a forced salute to a plaque hanging on a nearby wall, citizens would turn down this small alley in order to reach their destination. Once the Nazi's caught wind of what was going on, they began to take the names of any who walked this alley and find and arrest/kill them.
If you saw this alley in Munich, there would be no signs or notification of why these bricks are there, you'd have to find the information in a book or get it from your tour guide (which I did), so that's why I'm telling you what it is here.
