Last Friday I photographed a wedding. I know I said I'd never do them, but I decided to do this one because A) I know the groom and he's a cool guy, so I agreed to do it for him and B) I wanted to earn more money for my trip over seas. I now know why I never wanted to shoot weddings. It didn't go poorly, I could have done better I think. But I was, and still am, so stressed about losing the photos in some twisted way, I'm literally losing sleep. It's ridiculous. And it was a bit sad, because it was an outdoor wedding and it got rained out. We had to stall for 30 minutes. So what would have been an absolutely gorgeous sunset wedding, turned into a dark/wet wedding, which equals...nightmare to photograph. The ceremony was the worst part. And the house we shot in was so small and dark...not all my photos came out like I would have liked. Alas, the bride and groom are great people though. The rain didn't dampen their spirits at all. They were all smiles and joy despite the pitfalls, and I was more than happy to work with them. The next time I do a wedding tho...I'm buying a new camera LoL. I may or may not post photos...we'll see. If you're interested

Life is going well, busy busy busy tho. And aside from my extreme lack of sleep I'm good. Also....in two weeks....I'm going to EUROPE!!!!

For a month! Wow....I'm so excited. So if there are any deviants in London, Paris, Rome, Venice, Munich, Berlin, or Amsterdam. Perhaps we can meet for lunch! I'll be updating as much as I can while we're out and about (we being my brother and I) so I'll try to keep you all in the loop. Also I'll be updating on
my Blog so you can add me there and keep up too.
This was a really great movie. Angelina Jolie did an amazing job, truly, I'm not just saying that because she's gorgeous. It's really a remarkable story, and makes you think about what people will do to cover up their mistakes. Though it was set in the 1920's/30's, it almost feels like not much has changed. There were some points where it felt a little slow, and almost had "too many" endings. But it's something I'd probably watch again.

Definitely watch in 3D if you can. Up was a really enjoyable film. It had it's sad moments, it's funny moments, it's action packed moments. Worth a theater viewing for sure. The story itself, wasn't as strong as it could have been. It felt a little forced at some points because it seemed almost as if the story was made for the characters and not the other way around. They almost had to make it fit. But the characters I think were well worth it. All of them had such vibrant and fantastic personalities, you really grow to love (or hate) them.

Alright...I caved...and signed up for Twitter. We'll see how it goes. Would be much more useful if I had a fancy mobile device. But I'm more interested in reading other peoples posts, haha. So if you're interested, add me @SamanthaNandez. I'm sure eventually I'll figure out how to work it.

ahwell. at least we care about them getting good pictures. and that's a good quality! even though it may cause some lack of sleep.. but nothing is worse than wedding photographers that don't care about the people they photograph.

I thought Up was really good too. I have been following Ronnie del Carmen for a while [link] . He did a lot of design work on the movie and has some interesting side projects.
I am still envious of you and your future European journey.
i heard an interview on npr about Up, and you are exactly right about the story being built around the characters. i think they started with a sketch of the old dude.
I still would love to see pics if you put them up.
I want to see UP! Low money sucks though

Ah, well I'm glad I wasn't far off in how it felt. Like I said the characters are great, but the story was forced. Ah well.
