Hey guys, I hope everyone is doing well!  I've been great, keeping busy at work, planning fashion shoots, and running a wedding/portrait business.  I feel like I'm working three full time jobs! But it's all balancing out well and I am happy

I just wanted to let you know I've got a new blog over at tumblr.  You can see it here.  I switched because I was getting frustrated with blogger's inability to let me change my appearance as well as some e-mail profile things.  But I'm really happy with the new look that I think co-ordinates well with my site.  Hope to see you all there!!

Sorry it's been so long since my last update.  I just have been all over the place doing all sorts of things and generally being busy and not being able to get much photo work done.  So, on that note, let me proceed with a journal to catch you up   Firstly, I've started a new branch of photography in order to save more money.  Check out A&S Photography on Facebook, Twitter, and our Blog.  It's a brand new wedding/portrait photography business so give us some time and we'll be sure to update lots.  Also, if you live in the South and have been looking for such photographers, hit me up!  We travel too

Other than that, I've had family visiting, went to London and came back, been trying to work on getting photos editing, and got a new iPhone!  Now I can sit at the cool kids table    Also, starting the biz has kept me running, but now that it's official hopefully I can shoot more, edit more, and share more!!

LMAO, it's so funny because I logged on today just to go through the usual message/devwatch routine and I found out I had a DD because of this comment: "Ok...why is THIS a DD? I've seen soo much better."   what a way to find out.  Ah well, can't make everyone happy

What a fun week.  I really enjoyed being in London and coming back only makes me want to move there even more.  Firstly, my apologies for not being able to meet up with anyone.  Without internet, it was difficult to try and make plans.  Maybe next time   

Overall my week was great.  I arrived at 7am on Sunday, had some tea and cookies, then went immediately to assist `hakanphotography on a photoshoot.  What an experience!  I did take some behind the scenes photos and will share a few on my blog very soon.  I cannot post them all because I have to wait until the editorial is released.  The crew was amazing, and very diverse, and I am so grateful to have been able to work with such an amazing group of people.  

Unfortunately, the following day poor ~LittleRedx got sick   So we chilled in her flat whilst she recovered and I tried to get over some jet lag.  Later in the week we went to visit her family in the BEAUTIFUL English country side...and like an idiot...I forgot my camera   But it was a wonderful day, and SOOOO gorgeous!!  The next day she showed me around London, and the following day I went about by myself.  I really love just wandering around and exploring, always fun.  The last day I photographed some of ~LittleRedx's jewellry (the English spell it with 2 "l"'s before you go off) and I am BEYOND thrilled with the results.  Probably my best shoot yet.  It was great collaborating with Laura, and the model/photographer Imogen.  I'm not sure when I can release the photos, but hopefully soon!!!

I'm happy to be home because I get to see my boyfriend, my friends, have phone & internet again   But...*sigh* I'd really love to live somewhere where there are more people around I can collaborate and work with.  One day...one day...

So much to do, so little time, but it all works out   I hope you've been enjoying the new work I'm sharing with you!  I really appreciate the comments and feedback   I have a few more images coming down the pipeline as well as two NEW shoots this weekend!  I'm also constantly shooting for the Top Secret Project, many plans for that soon.  I can't WAIT to share it with you all.  Busy busy, but in the best way.  For those of you that are interested, I've made a blog about how I retouch skin.  So check that out if you're interested, and leave me some feedback so I can improve on future tutorials.


So, I've finally got my new camera sorted   Bought the camera, bought a new lens, downloaded a DNG converter so I can read the RAW files, and will probably soon be upgrading to CS5.  Phew.  Financially, it hurt!  But I know it'll be worth it in the long run.  All this stuff will pay itself off if I keep on workin'!  Which I am, so that's good   Once I really get a chance to use this camera I'll post a blog with a review.  So keep an eye out for that.  


And I save the best for last.  9 more days and I'll be in LONDON!! I'm suuuper excited.  I'm hoping to meet up with some photogs there, take some photos for Laura Bezant Jewelery, and just have a nice vacation in general.  I'm only there for a week though, so if you're interested in meeting up let me know! We can grab some coffee

So, I bought me a new camera.  That's right, you heard me, a new camera.  Which one you ask?  The 5D Mark II!   Although, after two shots, it gave me error code 01.  It said the lens & camera we're communicating.  Fantastic.  I kept shooting through it, turning it on & off, taking the battery in & out, and it stopped having issues.  So far so good since yesterday.  I'm still testing it, trying different lenses to make sure it doesn't happen again but we'll see.  I'd rather not have to send it back.  Once I get this problem sorted I'll be able to give you a proper review and hopefully share some new work with it


I was sick all last weekend, this allergy season is kicking my ass.  Fever, sore throat, horrible congestion   But I'm better now, and am still working on tons of photos.  Lots of works for me to do, but it's going well.  I'm beginning to realize why people hire retouchers, bad skin is a pain!!  But it's good practice and hopefully I can show you some nice results.  This is my first time retouching up close beauty shots with studio lighting.  Natural light makes things so much easier, haha.

I'm reaching the end of my rope with my day job.  There are perks, equipment use, studio use, benefits, a consistent job but the cons are starting to overpower that.  I can't color my hair, I can't wear certain clothes, and yesterday I was told I could no longer wear my lip stud.  That on top of the work I have to do...imagine you're a runner.  Running is your life, your love, your passion and you have a job where you can run!  They tell you, "Run anywhere you like, anywhere!...as long as it's in this pre-determined square mile."  What?!  That's how I feel.  I'm a full time photographer, they tell me I can be creative, I can try new things, but in the end it always goes back to the same formulaic shots they always get.  I actually have pre-determined settings in my head for 70% of the shoots I do.  It's horrible.  It's draining.  I have to go somewhere else...but I have no money and the only good camera I have belongs to them.  It's a terrible conundrum...but I hope that plans I have for the near future will change that...


On the plus side, however, I will be heading to London very soon!!  I will be there the week of May 15-22 to visit a good friend of mine, do a photoshoot (or two, anyone interested ), and meet-up with some other photogs.  This year is about reaching goals and making changes, and if I can start networking, getting info, trying to get myself out there, and save up money, I will get out of here and move into the big ol world.   I'm very excited about this trip, it's the first I've ever done on my own with my own money and my own plans.  It'll be a nice break from life and consistency.  My Spring Break was great too, but it's just one of those things the more I get out there the more I don't want to come back.  Gotta keep moving!!
